North Mankato, Minnesota – South Central College has signed on to become an affiliate with the VESTA program. VESTA, Viticulture Enology Science and Technology Alliance, is a national grape and wine education program that combines the flexibility of online instruction, instructor guided education from industry professionals and crucial hands-on experience.

Workshops will begin to be offered in May of 2014 through the Center of Business and Industry at South Central. Degrees and certificates will be offered through the VESTA program in 2015. VESTA is a National Science Foundation funded partnership between Missouri State University and colleges, universities, vineyards and wineries across the United States. For more information on VESTA please visit their website.

The Southern Minnesota Center of Agriculture, a public-private partnership, is focused on expanding the footprint of services to producers, agribusinesses and agriculture lenders throughout Southern Minnesota. South Central College serves as the lead institution for the Center and partnered is Minnesota West Technical and Community College within the MnSCU system. A variety of services focused on program development and research, professional preparation, domestic and international marketing opportunities, and partnership development are offered.
