North Mankato, Minnesota — The Southern Minnesota Center of Agriculture is pleased to announce the hiring of Sara Hewitt as the new Project Coordinator. Hewitt will work with the agricultural programs within the Minnesota State College and University (MnSCU) System and is headquartered at South Central College. Current partner with SCC is Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Hewitt holds a B.S. and a B.A. from Minnesota State University, Mankato and is currently completing her M.S. in Agricultural Education and Communications at Kansas State University. Hewitt also farms in Southern Minnesota.
"The opportunities in agriculture are endless, and the Center of Agriculture helps students and adults realize their career dreams can come true in agriculture, while assisting businesses to meet their workforce needs. It is an excellent collaboration, and I'm delighted to join the team," said Hewitt.
The Center, a public-private partnership, is focused on expanding the footprint of services to producers, agribusinesses and agriculture partners throughout Southern Minnesota. The Center serves as a collaborative arrangement between the two institutions, with more to join and its partners. A variety of services focused on program development and research, professional preparation, domestic and international marketing opportunities, and partnership development are offered.
